As of December 31, 2025, the Bexar County Medical Examiner's office ruled her death a suicide due to a gunshot wound to the head, believed to be from a missing family firearm. A CLEAR Alert, issued on December 24, 2025, was canceled following the identification. On January 8, 2026, a private funeral service was held for Olmos, and a mural was painted in San Antonio to honor her life. Her father, Alfonso Mendoza, spoke at a vigil on January 3, 2026, hoping her story would encourage mental health discussions.
